A plan for the construction of a new residential neighborhood in the northern town of Binyamina has finally been approved this month after a bureaucratic struggle of 17 years. The new neighborhood promises to be the largest real estate project the town has seen since the establishment of the Karmei Binyamina neighborhood 11 years ago.
The project encompasses 130 dunam located in proximity of the Karmei Binyamina neighborhood. As part of the construction plan 255 two-storey houses will be built including four housing units per dunam. In addition, the construction plan entails a permission to build a basement of 50 square meters for each house. The project was initiated by private landowners Moti Giladi, Ronen Shmulowitz, Avi and Eitan Golstein and Mordechai Benstein.
Binyamina, founded in 1922 and named after the Baron Edmond Benjamin James de Rothschild, is part of the Haifa district located south of Haifa and north of Netanya. The new residential neighborhood will be located close to the young and much desired Karmei Binyamina neighborhood, which has seen many families from the high-tech sector settle in the area.
Over the past ten years, residential housing in Binyamina has become very popular in particular after a national railway station was established in the center of the town directly connecting residents to Tel Aviv and Haifa. In recent years, Binyamina has also attracted young religious families looking for a quiet private home with garden located close to the center of the country. The town has synagogues, a religious school, two religious kindergartens, while also offering additional activities organized by the members of the community.
