New neighborhood to be built in Pardesiya

The local council of Pardesiya together with the Israel Land Administration is advancing a project to build a new residential neighborhood in the Sharon region for the construction of 930 housing units. The new neighborhood will be established north of Pardesiya located 5 kilometres east of Netanya.

The project will be the first project in 15 years for the construction of new residential housing in Pardesiya. The project was initiated to provide a solution for the shortage of new housing in Pardesiya and as such to enable the new and young population to come and live in the town.

According to the plan, the new neighborhood of 930 housing units will be built on a land of 420 dunam or about 104 acres, and will be part of the municipal area of Pardesiya. The residential area will be established as an additional neighborhood, which will be integrated into the town of Pardesiya and built in line with the character of a moshava in the Sharon plain. The new neighborhood consisting of 930 residential housing units will include 160 units for sheltered housing. The majority of housing units will be suited partly for the building of semi-detached houses and for garden apartments and partly for the construction of single houses including cottages and villas.

The Israel Land Administration said that the residential neighborhoood will be built in accordance with environmental protection standards and with a focus on maintaining the character of the moshava by offering the necessary services for its future residents through a major expansion of social services, educational and employment facilities, as well as, transportation connections to national highways.

As part of the new Israel real estate project, an area of land will be allocated for the establishment of a local park stretching over 27 dunam or 6.7 acres. In addition, there are plans to establish a school campus for which an area of 25 dunam or 6.2 acres, will be allocated to build a primary school, a junior high school and a community youth and sports center. Furthermore the plan includes an area allocation to improve and build the infrastructure for employment services and trade and commerce facilities stretching over a built area of 34,000 square meters.

Pardesiya, which is located in the center of Israel just a few kilometers from Netanya, was founded in 1938. The town is governed by a local council and populated predominantly by a Jewish population counting over 6,300 inhabitants with an average age group of between 20 and 55 years old. Educational and social facilities include 10 kindergarten groups, three school campuses, and an array of communal youth and sport activities. Religious facilities include six synagogues covering a number of denominations. The town also has a Chabad Center and a religious council offering ample religious services.
