Israel Land Authority (ILA) has announced the country’s first-ever initiative tender to establish a retirement village adjacent to Arad. The project is designed for residents aged 60 and above and will include housing units alongside leisure, recreation, sports, and golf facilities.

ILA announced on Wednesday the publication of a first-of-its-kind initiative tender for the construction of a retirement village in Arad. According to the notice, the complex is intended for people aged 60 and older and is expected to include about 2,000 housing units alongside leisure and recreation areas, sports, and golf facilities.
The site offered in the tender is designated for the development of a special residential neighborhood for the third age, combining living with leisure and recreation in Arad. The winning bidder will first sign a development agreement for a period of six years, during which they must prepare a new plan designating the land for residential, leisure, and recreation purposes, secure planning approvals, and complete construction according to the milestones outlined in the tender booklet. Upon completion of the planning procedures, the winner will sign a 98-year lease agreement (including the development period), with an option for an additional 98-year extension.
The tendered site is located in the northern part of Arad, adjacent to open scenic areas. In addition to residential uses, it will include leisure and recreation spaces and will span 1,865 dunams.
